BloomRetail Co. — Emergency Recovery
Full site recovery after a Black Friday crash. Back online in under 3 hours with zero data loss.
Overview
BloomRetail Co., an online fashion retailer, experienced a complete site outage on Black Friday — their highest traffic day of the year. The crash was caused by a combination of malware injection and a failed plugin update that corrupted the database. PaphTech was called in and had the site fully restored within 3 hours.
The Problem
The site went down at 6AM on Black Friday with thousands of customers unable to purchase. Malware had been injected via a compromised plugin, the database had partial corruption, and the hosting provider's backup was 48 hours old. Every hour offline was costing thousands in lost sales.
The Solution
Isolated the server, identified and removed the malware injection points, repaired the corrupted database tables, restored missing order records from payment gateway logs, hardened file permissions, and deployed a WAF rule to block the attack vector. Site was back online within 3 hours with all data intact.
